Thermal Imaging

Thermal Imaging is a method of using thermal energy and infrared radiation to formulate pictures of objects in order to get information about them. It is a non-contact, nondestructive and cost-effective way to detect and document hot spots. This can be done even in environments with low visibility. With the help of thermal imaging, problems that are generally invisible to the naked eye, can be revealed.

At Northeast Home Inspections, we provide thermal imaging services to clients across our region. With the help of thermal imaging, we can identify inefficiencies, faults, defects and predict breakdowns. We have a team of ITC certified Level II & Level III technicians who are experienced and trained in investigating and reporting problems, and will provide facts about situations you cannot see in your building. A timely intervention can save you inconvenience and costly repairs. Moreover, if all your systems and equipment are running at optimal performance, there will be lower costs, less downtime, and lower replacement costs.

Thermal images can reveal poor alignments on mechanical shafts, loose electrical connections, overheated motor bearings and windings, and uneven wear patterns on moving equipment. In building envelope systems, problems like leaky skylights, moisture under roof membranes, poorly installed walls and attics, missing insulation, shingles and under-layments damaged by water, or overall energy losses are identified with the help of thermal imaging technology.
